Day 12/13: Tech savvy + bed habits
12.) How is your character with technology? Super savvy, or way behind the times? Letters or email?
- LOL Wolly is not good with computers at all. At all. Or any tech, really. Even him having a tumblr and typing as well as he does is kind of…fantasy. He could not figure out how to work a VCR on his own.
- Letters or email…I’d say neither. He’s definitely not good at email. As for letters…his handwriting’s not bad, but his spelling is worse in print. Better to just call him.
13.) What does your character’s bed look like when he/she wakes up? Are the covers off on one side of the bed, are they all curled around a pillow, sprawled everywhere? In what position might they sleep?
- Ummmm he’s probably on top of a pile of twisted covers, sprawled out and half falling out of the bed. He does not sleep very gracefully.
- The exception to that is wintertime, when it is cold and he is all miserable and woozy. Then he sleeps in cocoons of blankets, and nestled into a corner if at all possible.

Day 10/11: Turning points + Spirit animal
10.) Can you define a turning point in your character’s life? Multiples are acceptable.
- Here they are, in order:
- Wolly’s mother dies. Period of turmoil at a young age; results in distanced father and being raised primarily by sister.
- Joining the gang. All of his teen/development years are spent with this “bad influence.” Minor scuffles with the law. Long-term effects on his psyche—without the gang, I think he would be a more confident person.
- Moving to the island (first time). Platform was a great way for Wolly to get away from the gang’s influence and experience new things, as well as meeting some lifelong friends. Meeting Jean basically turned him into a teddy bear, which is really sweet, especially if you consider the alternatives.
- Becoming an uncle. Finding out his sister was having a baby flipped a switch in his head, and although it’s not immediately obvious, he’s begun thinking more in the long-term. Along with the nurturing effects of his friends, he has become much more empathetic and protective of others, and (importantly) now considers how his actions affect others.
- Moving back to the island. Not sure how this will affect him yet, but I’m sure he’ll continue to grow!
11.) Is there an animal you equate with your character?
- I’m not gonna go for the obvious. I think a St. Bernard is his spirit animal. Huge, cuddly, furry, loyal, protective. He’s a St. Bernard at heart. He’s basically Beethoven.

- Color: red

- Flower: rose
9.) Who does your character trust?
- Short answer: just about everyone
- Shorter answer: Jean
